“If you’re dating a writer and they don’t write about you — whether it’s good or bad — then they don’t love you. They just don’t. Writers fall in love with the people we find inspiring” -Jamie Anne Royce

30 DAYS OF FEMALE CHARACTERS - DAY 1 // Favorite Lead Female Character
Detective Kate Beckett from the show Castle. I’ll be completely honest. Usually, I am not a fan of female characters. I think they can be written badly very easily, and I think many TV shows, books, and movies fall into different traps that female characters seem to lead writers into. Therefore, I usually find myself relating more with male characters than anything. Castle is the only show I have ever watched where I absolutely loved the lead female character. I want to be her friend. I want to be her lover. I want to be her. Jesus Christ, this woman is perfect. She is hot, funny, badass — and she never mentions the fact that she is a woman in a man’s world. It just never comes up, because it doesn’t have to. She is so good at what she does as a cop (not as a woman) that her ability, not her gender, is all that matters. She kick’s ass, takes names, and gets the guy. C’mon, what’s not to like?
Runner ups: Piper Halliwell from Charmed and Hermione Granger from Harry Potter.
